RIDS Programme
Marine life forms the heartbeat of our planet’s ecosystem, sustaining biodiversity and maintaining the delicate balance of nature. However, these vibrant underwater worlds are increasingly threatened, making awareness and conservation more crucial than ever. Nurturing sensitivity towards our oceans from an early age empowers children to grow into responsible and environmentally conscious global citizens.
With this vision, our school implemented a series of thoughtfully curated activities under the RIDS (Recognition of International Dimension) programme by the British Council, focusing on marine life awareness and conservation for students of Grades 3 to 5.
From August onwards, students actively participated in a variety of engaging learning experiences. The activities included movie screenings, Rescue Ranger notes, scrapbook making, sad and happy marine life expressions, collage making, a powerful skit spreading awareness about protecting and rescuing marine life, and a vibrant Marine Life Fashion Parade. Each activity enabled students to explore the theme in an age-appropriate, meaningful, and hands-on manner.
Today marked the grand culmination of all RIDS activities, along with the felicitation of students who participated in the Marine Life Fashion Parade. The event beautifully showcased creativity, confidence, and strong environmental values, making it a memorable highlight of the entire programme.
The enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment displayed by the students throughout this journey were truly commendable. We are immensely proud of our young learners and deeply appreciative of our teachers for their dedicated efforts in making this RIDS initiative a resounding success—one that has inspired awareness, responsibility, and a lifelong respect for our oceans.
