Goenkan Mart
Goenkan Mart, organised under our Pretend Play Series at GD Goenka High School, was a lively and engaging learning experience where students stepped into real-life roles and responsibilities through a creatively designed marketplace setup.
The activity gave students the opportunity to become cashiers, helpers, and customers, allowing them to manage counters, handle money, assist visitors, and organise items, while learning important skills such as communication, teamwork, basic numeracy, and customer interaction in a fun and practical way.
The mart featured thoughtfully created sections including a parking area, play zone, stationery shop, farmers market, and toy shop, making the entire experience realistic and exciting. From fresh produce at the farmers market to school supplies and toys, every corner encouraged participation, curiosity, and hands-on learning.
Through Goenkan Mart, students explored the value of responsibility, cooperation, and everyday life skills, turning play into a meaningful learning experience.
