Parent Teacher Meeting
A strong connection between parents and teachers triggers academic excellence as the work of the young one is monitored closely by both the groups. When a parent is involved, it creates a positive attitude in the child towards schoolwork. In such a context, it ignites a passion for learning in young minds.
It is also important that the teachers understand the psychology of children and try and help the parents to sort out issues at home to ensure the complete wellbeing of the little ones. If the teacher sees potential in a child, he/she should ideally inform the parents so that all of them can work together to nurture the talent in the little one.
With this view, a Parent Teacher Meeting for Nursery to Grade VII was held at GD Goenka High School to discuss the performance of students with their parents. Parents were given feedback on their ward’s performances.
It was a great interaction between the teacher and the parents for the development of their children where they discussed both the strengths and areas of improvements.
The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that joint effort, mutual understanding and co-operation of parents and teachers is very important for the proper nourishment and progress of students.
Mother's Day
No language can express the power, beauty and heroism of a Mother’s love.
We strongly believe that one day is not enough to celebrate motherhood and we should make every day as special as Mother's Day to shower our love upon our mothers. We should acknowledge all the little things that our mothers do for us every day. No other gift can be more special to a mother than her children's love and respect.
Young learners and educators at GD Goenka High School invited all the mothers to celebrate motherhood in their own special way. Students prepared delicious food items for their lovely mothers. It was a wonderful treat for the Mothers along with fun-filled surprises like dance performances, games, mother-child activities and they surely took along a bag full of memories to cherish.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Workshop: Self Defence
Keeping in view, the rising number of threats against students in the society, it is important to provide self-defence training to them in the schools to ensure their safety and security. We believe, Self-defence training will serve as a life skill that will help our students to be more aware of their surroundings and be prepared for the unexpected at any time.
GD Goenka High School organised a workshop on Self Defence on 17th May 2022. The workshop was conducted by an army personnel who trains the soldier of The Indian Army and is also a certified Scuba Diver, Rescue instructor, Mountaineer and a Life Coach.
He focused on important aspects of self-defence like Physical strength, Mental awareness, Discipline, Techniques and certain vital actions to be taken in the time of crisis.
Through the self-defence training, we expect that our young learners become psychologically, intellectually and physically strong enough to protect themselves in times of distress.

Grateful learners are more satisfied with their lives, use their strengths to improve their communities, are more engaged in their school work and hobbies and perform better in academics.
Storytelling by Grandparents
Stories are an integral part of every kid’s life, especially when it is narrated by grandparents. Whenever they want to hear a story the first person they run to, be it day or night is the grandparents. Grandparents are role models for children, and one of the most important things they can model and engage in with them is good communication.
GD Goenka High School invited grandparents for ‘Story Telling’ session which helped creating memories for our little ones. The children were overjoyed to have their grandparents narrate stories at school.
